What is unlimited parking?

In short: simply drive in, park, pay, and drive out again—no barriers, no tickets, and no stress. Modern technology takes care of everything automatically in the background.

How does unlimited parking work?

parking procedure

  1. running in

When you enter the parking area, high-resolution cameras automatically record your license plate number, including the time of entry, in compliance with data protection regulations. As soon as the system has recorded your license plate number, your parking session starts automatically.

Parkers do not have to wait in line at a barrier or stop to take a ticket. Barrier-free parking also eliminates the stress of having to keep track of your ticket.

Important: No video recordings are made, and drivers are not visible in the images. Furthermore, all data is processed in accordance with data protection regulations.

  1. Parking

Road users can park in one of the available parking spaces as usual—without worrying about losing their ticket.

  1. Pay

Before leaving, parkers pay for parking. How parkers pay depends on the options available. The two most common are:

  • Payment at the parking meter: Enter your license plate number at the meter and pay with cash, card, or contactless (NFC).
  • Payment by smartphone: Parkers scan a QR code displayed in the parking area, enter their license plate number, and pay digitally. In parking areas operated by Mobility Hub, parkers do not need to register separately and can often pay for a certain period of time (usually up to 24 hours) after leaving.

Parkers decide for themselves how comfortable they want to be. In any case, barrier-free parking means no stress with parking tickets. Digital payment via smartphone saves the detour and queuing at the parking meter.

  1. extension

Once payment for parking has been made, drivers can simply drive away from the parking area—again, thanks to the barrier-free solution, without waiting or stopping.

Unlimited parking: Your top 3 benefits

✔ Easy to drive in and out

Road users simply drive onto the parking lot and then drive off again—without stopping, without traffic jams, and without wasting time.

✔ Never lose tickets again

The license plate = the parking ticket. This means that parkers don't have to worry about storing, searching for, or losing a paper ticket.

✔ Flexible payment options

Parkers can pay either on-site at the machine or conveniently (later) via smartphone.

How secure is data?

Many drivers wonder: "If my license plate is scanned, what happens to my data?"

The good news is that your data is secure even when parking without barriers. It is used exclusively for processing your parking transaction and is automatically deleted within the statutory time limits.

In addition to payment data, which is also processed by traditional barrier systems, the system only records the license plate number and the entry and exit times. This recorded data is processed in full compliance with data protection regulations in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (b) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Important for parkers:

  • No video recordings: There is no continuous video surveillance.
  • No images of people: Neither the drivers themselves nor their passengers are recognizable in the images.
  • No owner query in normal cases: Operators do not have access to owner data.

The Federal Motor Transport Authority only checks the vehicle registration number if there has been a parking violation, for example, unauthorized parking, exceeding the maximum parking time, or non-payment.

This ensures that data remains protected at all times and is only used for the purposes for which it is necessary.

What happens if payment is forgotten?

In fact, it is almost impossible to forget to pay. Clear signage throughout the parking area explains how to pay, what rates apply, and how the process works. In addition, vehicles leaving the parking lot are reminded once again in a clearly visible manner to pay the parking fee.

However, if you do happen to drive away without paying, you can usually pay for your parking digitally via smartphone afterwards—usually within 24 hours.
